Entry 1 - Reflection on Previous I Search Experiences (due Mon. April 7)
1. What are some of the previous research projects you have done?
I have done Mythology and labyrinth webquests, researched a presidential candidate, looked up issues for a Youth Leg Bill, a Bioboard, a Latin City Of Pompeii Project, and countless other research projects.
2. Based on these projects, what does research mean to you?---Research if finding facts about a topic through the use of reference materials like books or computers. It can also be done by observing your topic firsthand.
3. Describe one of your research successes or failures. Why was the experience positive or negative?---One of my greatest research successes was in 6th grade Latin. It was the City Of Pompeii Project, or COPP. Over the course of the school year, we researched every aspect of Roman life. At the end we made a brochure of everything we learned. It was positive because I learned a lot not only about Rome, but my research methods, and I made a great grade.

Entry 2-Reflection on Webbing Process (due Tuesday, April 8)
I think the Webbing Process helped because it helped me to see what I was interested in and how hard it would be to research the topics. I thought using Inspiration to put my ideas together was a great idea because it helped me to remember my other ideas. It also helped me to think of new ones that were similar to topics I had written down.

Entry 3- Why I Chose This Topic and What I Know About My Topic (due Tuesday, April 8)
The topic that I chose is ancient civilizations' effects on our society.
I chose this topic because it is very broad and easy to research, and I would like to see who invented the technologies, customs, and ideas that we use today. I know that many of our English words come from Latin, the language of the Romans. We get a lot of architecture from the Greeks, technologies and philosophies from the Chinese, and religions from Israel.
This topic was too broad, so I decided to only do the Romans' influence on our culture.
I chose the Romans because they gave us many advances, and isnce I take Latin, I already know a lot about them.

Entry 4 - Pre-Notetaking Activity - in class (due Wednesday, April 9)
1. Brainstorm a list of questions related to your topic.
- What is the Romans' most important contribution to our society and why?
- How did Rome affect our language and customs?
- What influence did the Romans have on our religion?
- How was our government influenced by the Romans?
- What arts and sciences did the Romans give us?
- What everyday things did the Romans first invent?
- How did Rome influence our architecture and building styles?

Entry 5 - Reflections on Pre-Notetaking - for homework (due Wednesday, April 9)
1. Describe how the pre-notetaking sheet helped you find both focus for your topic and research questions to investigate. Did you find it easy or difficult to create a fat question from your ideas?

The pre-notetaking really helped me with a topic, because it helped me see that my topic was too broad when Mrs. Felps pointed it out. I saw that the questions I had written down would be easy to find, but they would cover a lot of information. I found it very easy to find a fat question for my topic, because I could easily combine all of my questions into one. The pre-notetaking sheet helped because it helped me focus on what I had and what I still needed. I could also think of new questions by looking at the ones I'd already written down.

Entry 6 - Search Log (due Thursday, April 10)
1. What have I learned today?
I learned a lot about Roman government and I also realized just how similar it was to the US government.
2. What problems have I had?
I had to really read into the article to get some of the information that I needed, and I'm also not sure how accurate my information may be because I used Wikipedia
3. How will I overcome the problem(s)?
I will double check my information on another website.
4. What will I do next?
Next I will finish researching my questions and putting them on notecards, then I will create my works cited.

Use another site or a print source to check the reliability of the information.

1. What have I learned today?
Today I found my print source and answered my science and inventions questions.
2. What problems have I had?
When I was making a notecard on NoodleBib, it would close out the internet with an error report whenever I tried to put the notecard in the cluster, along with some other buttons.
3. How will I overcome the problem(s)?
Hopefully this problem will resolve itself.
